I'm one of the newest members of Crowded Fire Theatre Company,
and it's a real joy to be here. What I find most impressive
is the sense of community this group has pulsing through them.
I had the pleasure of being in two shows before joining the
company, and every night at rehearsal or at a performance,
a company member, not associated with the production, was there
to lend a hand. This spirit led directly to my joining Crowded
Fire. Plus, the work is so damn challenging! The company is
process driven, producing new plays that push the borders of
how we think of theater in this country. And it's varied--I
went from playing a pious priest, a racist politician, and
a death obsessed war veteran in just a year!
Acting is my passion and Crowded Fire provides two ways for
me to meet my personal goals. One, I'm growing and stretching
with a supportive group of artists over time, and two, I'm
directly involved in process heavy theater pieces, which means
I learn a lot in the rehearsal room as well as in performance.
Most recently, I was a part of our Matchbox Reading Series,
which was an intense weekend of work for me in two distinctly
different new plays. It was an exhausting but thrilling three
days. I'm proud of the work Crowded Fire does, and we continue
to be innovative while keeping the artist at the center of
all that we do.
