Kent Nicholson and Cassie Beck

Hello from the proud Artistic Directors of Crowded Fire Theater Company. As long time collaborators, best friends, and now newlyweds, we are thrilled to be leaders of such an important part of the Bay Area and National New Plays ecology. We kicked off 2008 as first season producers with Gone by Charles Mee. We've chosen 2 more important, dramatic, and challenging scripts to tempt you into the theater, and also into our post-show discussions (after every performance); The Listener, by Liz Duffy Adams (Kent directs this one) and My Name is Vera Cupido, by Stephanie Fleischmann.

Our personal goal for Crowded Fire is three fold. We are continuing our reputation for bringing edgy, daring new voices to the Bay Area while supporting playwrights through the celebration of process. Secondly, we are focused on community. You'll find us determined to build strong bonds with our collaborators and our spectators in a way that makes the company accessible, intimate, and special. And lastly, we are truly dedicated to the ensemble we have gathered. Check out their bios on our website, and help us reach our goal to employ all of them this year. We get the joy of paying them to do what they do best, art!

Adopt Us! When you adopt us as artistic directors, you are making a financial contribution to our general operating expenses--something every theater desperately needs. Thank you in advance for your support--as financial parents, you make our job and our lives so much more fun!
