Preschool teacher by day, grad student by night, and lighting
designer by... the rest of the time? Um, yes. It's been a challenge
to find the right balance between theater and early childhood
education—two of my passions, and two things I want to
be doing for years to come.
Crowded Fire has been an important part of that balance. In
many ways it's an artistic home for me, where I get to work
with artists I admire and make theater I know I'll be proud
of. It's a place where I can be involved in projects from their
inception, and see them all the way through to production,
which is one of the most gratifying parts of doing theater
for me.
Getting to work on productions like Anna Bella Eema is challenging
and rewarding. And the exposure and contacts I've gained through
Crowded Fire have allowed me to work with a great range of
other theater companies in the bay area. It's in large part
thanks to this that I'm currently able to choose projects that
are both artistically exciting to me and work with my complicated
schedule as I go through this complicated balancing act of
being a grad student, teacher, and active theater artist.
Adopt me! By donating to Crowded Fire, you'll support not
just exciting art and a great company, but also my personal
work being an artist and teacher.
