As you know, I have a full time sound gig at TheatreWorks
(a big daddy in size and scale as far as Bay Area theater is
concerned), but my heart is in Crowded Fire, a small theater
company that I just joined. I've been designing for them occassionally
over the past few years, and even in my overworked life, I
find ways to collaborate with them
I consider Crowded Fire a place where I can tackle different
sorts of projects from what I'm given at the larger theaters.
Now that I am a bona fide ensemble member, I'm already committed
to designing two shows next year, The Listener and My Name
is Vera Cupido. For Vera, we're organizing a special workshop
to incorporate sound. That means the writer, director, and
I will get rare time to work together specifically on how sound
and music will fit in the piece.
Crowded Fire gives me a lot in the form of spirit and food
for the soul. My personal goal is to do more work that both
invites and challenges, and Crowded Fire is committed to supplying
that in my life. I might even get to compose soon. We're also
working towards the goal of buying a sound computer, so I could
really do some cool sh*&!
Adopt me! Donate to Crowded Fire, and you're putting money
towards my artistic life.
