Last year I joined on as Crowded Fire's new Production Manager.
As an artist, I'm in the early stages of learning the ins and
outs of supporting and producing a professional production
from beginning to end. What's cool about Crowded Fire is that
it is this edgy little indie theatre but with really high expectations
for production support. In some ways, working with a limited
budget helps me be more creative in the ways I do my job --always
walking the line between finding affordable solutions to financial
burdens.
Crowded Fire is dedicated to producing new work, so we're
constantly developing theater pieces. This means I'm often
involved in productions from their origin, working with playwrights,
designers, actors, directors, musicians, choreographers, and
production staff to bring truly innovative plays to fruition.
The work is inventive and demanding and the plays are always
a growth opportunity.
My personal goal in theater is to learn a more holistic understanding
of producing a show, and Crowded Fire is helping me by providing
the necessary resources to sharpen my skills by involving me
in every aspect of the process. I'm delving into the world
of writers'
royalties, negotiating with agents, rental agreements, contracting
artists, and non-profit accounting.
Adopt me! By donating to Crowded Fire today, your cash goes
directly towards my productions next year...and ultimately,
a financially healthy CF means direct support for me.
